HELPING OTHERS
In the parish we have a Strong Legion of Mary group who visit the sick,housebound and the bereaved on a regular basis, they with the Union of Catholic Mothers also help out at the Hospital Mass on Saturday Mornings.
Ministers of Holy Communion take communion to the housebound and those in nursing homes on a weekly basis.
St Josephs family centre which is a registered charity is a major resource for help for families in the Pastoral area and behond. Providing counselling, and practical help. It is a registered contact centre for children to meet absent parents.
It is managed by the Poor Servants of the Mother of God, parishioners from St Josephs are on the governing body.

Within St Josephs parish we also have a strong CAFOD group
CAFOD is the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. It is the official overseas development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. CAFOD has been fighting poverty in developing countries since 1962.
CAFOD believes that all human beings have a right to dignity and respect, and that the world's resources are a gift to be shared equally by all men and women, whatever their race, nationality or religion.
