PARISH GROUPS
We have numerous parish groups assisting our parish of St Josephs as well as Fr Richard the Parish Priest we also have two deacons, Deacon John McClure and Deacon John Traynor.

Legion of Mary
The Legion meet every Thursday they are a vital link between the parish and those who are sick or housebound, or recently bereaved they are a valueable resource in assisting the parish priest, they also carry out a census of the parish through their visits and at the request of the parish priest. Union of Catholic Mothers
We have a large group who meet every fortnight on Thursday evenings in the parish social centre, as well as sharing in the spiritual life of the parish,they are also a active social group raising funds for charity and supporting each other they promote the ideals of Christian family life, They also enjoy a social activity and trips out. But primarily they are a group who assist and support the parish priest.

Children's Liturgy Group
We have a thriving Children's Liturgy Group on Sundays at the 10.30 am Mass led by a group of mums. We also organise special services at Easter and Christmas.
Teams of our Lady
We have three teams in the parish, these are married couples normally up to seven couples in each group, who come to share with each other, reflect on the Gospels and support each other in family life

Mothers Prayers
Is a group of mothers who meet after Mass every Monday morning to pray for their families particularly their children, they also share over a cup of tea and support each other Ring the parish office 01925 722105 for further details or if you want to find out more about Mothers Prayers and its aims from a national or international aspect click on the link below you will find it very useful why not go along and meet some of the mothers.

Are a group of dedicated women who after Mass on Thursday mornings clean and polish our church
Gardens and Grounds Maintenance Group
You dont have to be skilled to join us just willing to maintain our grounds, and carry out simple maintainance tasks we meet in the church grounds on the third Saturday of the Month, Fr Richard provides the bacon butties

Buildings and Plant Maintainance

Marriage Preparation.
St Josephs have a team of married people who run a marriage course for all those getting married in St Josephs,the topics discussed cover communications, finance,marriage as a Sacrament and various other topics

Altar servers
We have both boys and girls serving on the altar, as well as a group of dedicated older men who assist at all funerals
Sacristans
Our Sacristans ensure that the church is open, and the altar is ready for the various services and Masses, they also ensure that supplies are kept up to date and linens laundered
Readers of Gods Word
Are parishioners who read Sacred Scripture at the Sunday and daily Mass,
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Assist the Priest and Deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion at all the Masses, they are also a vital link between the sick and housebound and those in nursing homes when they take Holy communion to them normally on a weekly basis, some of the ministers also assist in taking communion to those in hospital
Finance Committee
The finance committee is a advisory body that is appointed to help the Parish Priest in the financial running of the parish. It meets twice per year to review parish finances and budgets the parish administrator Christine is secretary to this body
Parish Council
The parish council is formed by representitives of the various organisations within the parish, members of the clergy are also on this council they meet 4 times a year to plan and assist the parish priest in running such a large parish as St Josephs. Hospitality Group
This group was formed out of a parish mission many years ago, they help with the catering and hospitality for social events in the parish
Piety shop staff
We have a well stocked shop selling all types of religious items the shop is open after all services or if closed, items can be obtained from parish office during opening times, Since the religious shops closed in Warrington we find more people are coming to St Josephs for religious goods and cards
St Joseph's Toddlers group
We are open term time only and meet in the Loreto centre,Monday,Thursday, and Friday from around 9.30am till 11.30am. It costs £1.00 with plenty of tea coffee and toast provided. We have a good range of toys for the children from birth to pre school,Grandparents,parents and carers are all welcome Please contact the parish office for more information and contact person
Office Volunteers
As well as a parish administrator we have a group of volunteers who assist in the parish house answering the phones and taking messages and welcoming callers, the office is open 9.30am till 2,00pm Monday to Friday

Baptism Preparation Group
Couples who bring their children for baptism in St Josephs have to attend a series of meetings to explain to them and help them prepare for the baptism of their child, we have three teams of volunteers who do this work.

Liturgy Group
The liturgy group meets periodically to plan the music for the Sunday Masses or any special services, they also assist in providing music for any funerals in the parish
Scouts and Beavers
Church Collectors Group
The collectors help with the colections at Sunday Mass, they also assist the Parish Priest in counting the same collection and carrying out a audit
Parish Pantomime and Social Group
Each year the parish puts on a very professional Christmas show, which is highly acclaimed the X factor has nothing on it, it is organised and arranged by the above group open to all parishioners if you can, sing, act, or just want some good fun then this is the group for you.
